Common questions
Do I need experience to rent a machine?
For homeowner jobs, many renters are first-timers on compact equipment. You get a walkthrough on the controls at pickup. For bigger machines or complex jobs, we may ask about your experience or suggest a different size.
What do I need to rent?
A valid ID, a payment card, a signed rental agreement, and a deposit. Commercial renters may be asked for a certificate of insurance.
How does pickup work?
Rentals are picked up and returned at a pickup zone in the Triangle, serving Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Apex, Chapel Hill, Wake Forest and surrounding towns. You bring a truck and trailer rated for the machine. We give you its transport weight when you book.
Do I need my own truck and trailer?
Yes. Compact equipment is heavy: a 3 – 4 ton mini excavator typically needs a 3/4-ton or larger truck and an equipment trailer with brakes. Tell us what you tow with and we will match you to a machine that fits.
Who is responsible for calling 811?
You are. Before any digging in North Carolina, call NC 811 (or submit online) so buried utilities are marked. It’s free and required by law.
I own a machine I barely use. How does consignment work?
We inspect your equipment, sign a consignment agreement with you, and handle every rental from start to finish. You earn a share of each rental and can take your machine back with notice. See the owner page for details.
Do you only work in the Triangle?
Day-to-day rentals cover Raleigh, Durham, and the surrounding Triangle towns. For longer rentals, contractor projects, or equipment owners elsewhere in North Carolina, reach out and we will see what we can do.
What happens if a consigned machine gets damaged?
Every rental is documented with before and after photos and hour readings. Your consignment agreement spells out exactly how damage and repairs are handled before your machine ever goes out.
Got a job this weekend?
Tell us about it. We’ll match the machine and set up your pickup.
